Page 248 This was a special meeting of the
Employees present were Debbie Gosnell and
Teresa Kennedy. Mayor Purvis called the meeting to order at
5:00 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the
purchase of a drop box for utility payments and to hear
presentations for a phone system from House Calls and Windstream.
Windstream contacted City Hall late in the afternoon to
advise the office they would not be able to attend the meeting but
would come to the council meeting on Tuesday. Gosnell presented the council with three
possible choices for a drop box.
After discussion of each box and the pros and cons of each
one, Lewis Fortune moved to purchase Drop Box 500-IW.
Bob Kirkham seconded and motion carried.
John Lambert, House Calls Representative, met
with the council to go over the features of the phone system he is
presenting. John
discussed the current features of the proposed model as well as the
capabilities of upgrading in the future through a power point
presentation. John
advised the council that he has been working for the City for
several years providing computer service, building city computers
and updating software.
He commented that he felt that adding the phone service would
integrate nicely in the service he is already providing for the
City. He informed the
council that he had the capability of working on the system
remotely, however, should the occasion arise where he could not fix
the system remotely, he will be available for service repair no
later than next day.
His bid is as follows:
